Litchfield County Superintendent Award Winners

Canaan (Lee H. Kellogg) School

Natalie Wadsworth is genuinely the nicest, most respectful, and respected 8th grade student at Lee H. Kellogg’s Middle School in Falls Village. Her hard-working ethics, perseverance, and willingness to accept positive feedback make her a model for her peers. Natalie has the ability to be an independent thinker, staying true to herself and her values. Natalie participates in Quiz Bowl, chorus, sports, and is the 2018 Geography Bee winner. This multifaceted young woman is a pleasure to know and teach.


Cornwall Consolidated School

Reilly Hedden has long been an excellent student, leader, and citizen at Cornwall Consolidated School. As a student, Reilly earns high marks for her work habits and achievement and has a particular passion for science. A leader in school, she works with classmates to run assemblies, mentors younger students, edits the yearbook, and more. Reilly also has a love for theater, with excellent performances in school productions. As a citizen, Reilly is quietly compassionate as well as active in fundraising and volunteering for worthy causes.


Kent Center School

Eric Zhang, an 8th grade student, is an exemplary student who holds himself to a high standard. He impacts other students in a positive way with his leadership and kindness. Eric is able to maintain honors status while also being involved in extra-curricular activities. Eric plays soccer, basketball and tennis, as well as being a clarinet player in the Senior Band.

Eric is a polite, thoughtful and well-rounded young man. We are proud to have him as part of the KCS family.


North Canaan School

Joseph Brennan is an exceptionally motivated, high honors student who loves to read and enjoys being part of many school activities such as drama club, performing on the trumpet in the school band, and playing on the school’s quiz bowl team. Joey has a dynamic personality, is a model citizen, displays kindness, and is respected by all. Additionally, he is involved at his church where he is an altar server. Active and athletic, he swims and plays soccer, basketball, and baseball.


Salisbury Central School

Josie Marks is an exceptional 8th grader at Salisbury Central School. She leads by example and demonstrates strong leadership both in and out of the classroom. She is a conscientious student who loves learning and puts forth her best effort everyday. Josie plays percussion in the school band and piano in the jazz band. She is a member of our school soccer, basketball, and softball teams. In her spare time she volunteers at Noble Horizons visiting the elderly.

 

Sharon Center School

Autumn Beeman is an outstanding 8th grade student at Sharon Center School. Autumn is involved in band, chorus, and the school musical. She also shares her musical talents beyond the building as a member of Regional Band and Chorus and as a participant in Northern Regional Chorus. She is a scholar-athlete, playing both soccer and softball. Autumn is known for her kindness towards others, especially the younger students she works with through Project Make a Difference.



Housatonic Valley Regional High School

Abigail Adam is a senior at HVRHS. In addition to taking pride in her academics, Abby frequently volunteers within her local community, is involved in three different choirs, and began a local internship creating podcasts this year. Additionally, she works at the North Canaan Historical Society, and continually works to improve her artistic ability through drawing and painting. Abby is always happy to lend a helping hand to others as well, and has been described as a genuine and caring friend.


Jack Scarpa, also a senior student, has proven himself as an exceptional student earning various awards.  Jack is a positive role model with his peers both in and out of the classroom. He has been a varsity athlete all four years in multiple sports earning the position of Captain, many awards and most recently named Scholar Athlete. Jack is the Student Government Association Treasurer, a member of the National Honor Society and enjoys promoting school spirit and support of his community.
